Ian Mailing has been committed to the study of science, human nature, and philosophy for 30 years.  In the early 1990’s, as a corporate leader and soon-to-be parent, he became fascinated with human motivation and how our belief systems shape the quality of life we experience.  Not satisfied with traditional shortcuts to the answers, Ian continues to research and develop his own philosophy, he calls “Valuism,” which is summarized in the example page. In his spare time, Ian coordinates a local philosophy discussion meet-up group with over 1000 on-line members and 30 regular attendees.  He is most passionate about helping others to challenge their way of thinking, to becoming more aware and self-empowered, and to developing a philosophical perspective that enables them to achieve their highest aspirations.  While Ian prefers to advocate for science and the study of human nature as the road to deeper understanding, he also holds a particular admiration for the works of philosophers Bertrand Russell and Karl Popper.
